FC Marquette Red Bulls OO take second

MARQUETTE - The FC Marquette Red Bulls 00 U-12 soccer team took second place in the Appleton Summer Shootout on June 30-July 1, playing in the Mexico Bracket.

In Game 1, the Red Bulls lost 4-3 to the FC Panthers Black from Illinois. Scoring for the Red Bulls was Caleb Byma assisted by Evan Sorensen while Eli Pickard had two goals assisted by Kahleb Federau and Ethan Martysz. Ben Noble made 16 saves in goal. Caleb Byma was the offense of player of the game for the Red Bulls, Colton Yesney was the defense of player of the game and Pickard was the outstanding player of the game.

In Game 2, the Red Bulls beat the Niagara Northern Stars Kulas from Wisconsin 4-1. Scoring for the Red Bulls was Federau. He was assisted by Pickard, who had two goals assisted by Brenden Lindgren and Federau. Kyle Michelson had a goal assisted by Byma. Martysz made four saves in goal. Pickard was the offense of player for the game for the Red Bulls, Noble was the defense of player of the game and Federau was the outstanding player of the game.

In Game 3, the Red Bulls beat the Everton FC of Wisconsin 3-0. Scoring for the Red Bulls was Federau assisted Martysz. Sorensen's goal was assisted by Byma. Noble assisted a goal by Pickard. Martysz made six saves in goal. Noble was the offense of player of the game for the Red Bulls, Erik Salminen was the defense of player for the game and Sorensen was the outstanding player of the game for the Red Bulls.

In the championship game, the Red Bulls lost to the FC Panthers Black from Illinois 4-2. Scoring for the Red Bulls was Martysz on a penalty kick. Martysz scored again with an assist by Pickard. Noble made 15 saves in goal. Martysz was the offense of player of the game for the Red Bulls, Byma was the defense of player of the game and Noble was the outstanding player of the game. Byma was the MVP of the tournament for the Red Bulls.

In league play, Team 10 edged Blue Lightning, 6-5. Goal scorers for the winners were unavailable, but those who netted markers for Blue Lightning were Jacob Garrow, John Weber, Keaton Ansell and Easton Miller.

Team 3 crushed Team 1, 19-1, behind tallies by Caden Bous, Tommy Blemberg, Isaac Johnson and Ethan Swanson.

Team 16's goal scorer was unavailable.

The Gray Wolves beat the Growling Bananas, 4-2. Finding the net for the winners were Alex Becker, Owen Rippi, Theo Adams and Cole Ranta; for the \Growling Bananas, it was Asa Naigus and Noah Weigold.

Also, the Green Gators outlasted the Purple Cobras, 11-9. For the Green Gators, Jack Burzynski, Lizzy Burzynski, Gavin Dawson, Drew Dellies and Fletcher Rose scored; for the Purple Cobras, it was Justin Jurmu, Mathew Marra, Holden Hutter, Eli LaJoice, Bastain Gephart and Ayden Beaudry.
