ISHPEMING - It won't be until next July before a winner is determined in the White Division of the 33rd Annual Ishpeming High School Alumni Softball Tournament.
The Class of 2003 was beating the Class of 2010, 13-10 in the fourth inning, when a thunderstorm stopped play.
Tournament spokesman Tim Hares said the two teams will resume the game on July 1, 2013.
In other play, The Class of 1962 beat the Class of 1966, 13-8, to claim the Classic Division crown. Bud Poirier got the mound win; "Bullet" Johnson took the loss.
In the Hematite Division, the Class of 1967-68-69 tied the Class of 1974-75-76-77, 18-18.
Due to extreme heat, the game was ended with the two teams deadlocked.
Mickey Salmi and Ike Issacson were named most valuable players.
Blue Division play saw the Class of 1978-79-82-83 crush the Class of 1995 in the championship game, 18-5.
Harley Clickner and David Vilona picked up co-MVP honors.
