SAULT STE. MARIE - Opening its portion of the Sault Ste. Marie Tournament Friday, the Ishpeming Blue Storm American Legion baseball team split two games.
Manager Brian Fisher's club rallied to beat Alpena, 7-4, but lost to Petoskey, 5-1.
In its victory, the Blue Storm trailed 4-0 before .notching seven runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take the win.
Jacob Finegan hit a double and knocked in two runs. Teammate Jake Richards also plated two runs.
Sawyer Fisher took the mound win in relief of Blake Strother.
In the loss to Petoskey, the Ishpeming squad took a 1-1 tie into the fourth before the winners scored two runs in both the fourth and fifth innings to take the game.
Richards shouldered the loss, going the distance and striking out one. Petoskey pitcher S. Morse fanned 13.
Finegan doubled for Ishpeming.
The Blue Storm is scheduled to see more tournament competition today in the Soo.
