ISHPEMING - A 20-year-old Ishpeming man was expected to be arraigned today in Marquette County District Court for alleged driving while intoxicated, having allegedly sideswiped a vehicle and crashed his car into a house in Ishpeming Township.

Michigan State Police troopers from the Negaunee regional post were withholding the man's name, pending his arraignment,

Police said the incident occurred around midnight along Greenwood Street, near the intersection of Silver Street.

Troopers said two vehicles were headed west along Greenwood Street when the first vehicle, a Jeep Wrangler, stopped to make a turn south onto Prospect Street. The trailing vehicle, a Chevrolet Impala, attempted to pass the Jeep and allegedly sideswiped the vehicle.

Police said the Chevrolet then went off the road and crashed into a residence at 100 Silver St. The car went through the wall of the living room in the home. No injuries were reported.
