L'ANSE - Behind some lusty hitting, the Ishpeming Major Girls 11-12 softball team clobbered Penokee Range, 22-4, in District 11 play Monday in L'Anse.
The winners got off to a fast start with triples in the first inning by Kayla Kaukola, Emma Bleau, Marissa Carello and Lauren Farley.
A solid defense then was anchored by a committee of pitchers that included Megan Pohlman, Kaukola and Emma Bleau.
