MARQUETTE - A 6-0 loss to FC Central Select of Wisconsin left the Marquette FC Red Bulls U14 squad with a second place finish June 24 at the Sentry Soccer Classic in Stevens Point, Wis.
Alex Wyble was in net for Marquette and made 13 saves in the championship game.
The Red Bulls made it to the final by going 3-1 in pool play.
Game 1 was a 9-2 win over MC United of Wisconsin, with five goals coming in the first half.
Marquette markers were turned in by Trevor Williams, Preston Marchant (2), Lehomn Pickard (4) and Kees Gray (2).
Assists went to Travis Lindberg (2), Williams, Marchant (2), Peter Amundsen, Nicholas Mercier, Lehomn Pickard, Eli Pickard (3) and Dillon Nadeau.
Wyle came up with one save in net.
Game 2 was a 7-1 win over the Waupaca (Wis.) Kickers. Tallying goals for the winners were Lindberg, Marchant (2), Alex (Wes) Bianchi, Lehomn Pickard (2) and Eli Pickard.
Gaining assists were Lindberg, Amundsen and Nathan King.
Wyble was in net.
In Game 3, the Red bulls blanked the HOVSA Blue Thunder of Wisconsin, 3-0.
Marchant scored twice and Eli Pickard notched a single marker. Lehomn Pickard recorded an assist.
Wyble and Amundsen split the net duties. Amundsen had no saves in the first half and Wyble came up with five stops in the second.
King was named the defensive player of the game, Eli Pickard the offensive player of the game and Amundsen the most valuable player.
Game 4 saw the Red bulls dropping a 6-3 decision to the FC Central Select team. The Marquette squad needed three goals to make it to the final.
Red Bull goal scorers were Williams, Lehomn Pickard and Eli Pickard, with assists going to Lehomn Pickard (2) and King. Wyble turned aside 10 shots on net.
The Red Bulls are coached by Ricky Graves and assistant Garret Marchant.
Red Bulls U14 go 0-2-1 in tourney
The FC Marquette U14 Red Bulls tied and lost twice in the Appleton (Wis.) Summer Shootout soccer tournament.
The Red Bulls started the weekend with a loss 5-1 to the Green Bay Lightning. The Red Bulls' lone goal was scored by Peter Amundsen unassisted. In goal was Alex Wyble with 22 saves. The offensive player of the game was Sydney Higgins and the defensive player of the game was Nicholas Mercier. The MVP of the game was Alex Bianchi.
The second game was a tie 4-4 against the Appleton SC Thunder. Goals were scored by Lehomn Pickard (3) and Peter Amundsen. Assists were from Amundsen, Alex Bianchi and Joel Betts. Wyble was in net and made 18 saves. The offensive player of the game was Lehomn Pickard, the defensive player of the game was Preston Marchant and the MVP of the game was Trevor Williams.
The Red Bulls third game was a 2-0 loss against the Howard (Wis.) Hurricanes. Wyble made 19 saves. The offensive player of the game was Travis Lindberg, the defensive player of the game was Sydney Higgins and the MVP of the game was Preston Marchant.
Red Bulls 00 go 1-2 in Wisconsin
MARQUETTE - In action June 23-24 at the Sentry Soccer Classic Tournament in Stevens Point, Wis., the FC Marquette Red Bulls 00 U12 soccer team went 1-2.
In game 1, the Red Bulls lost to the Rhinelander (Wis.) Hodags, 4-1.
Scoring for the Red Bulls was Zac Holm, assisted by Caleb Byma.
Ben Noble made four saves in net in the first half for Marquette and Kyle Michelson five in the second half.
Holm (offense), Erik Salmine (defense) Evan Sorensen (outstanding player) picked up special awards.
In game 2, the Red Bulls defeated the Wisconsin Rapids Kickers, 3-1, behind goals by Kahleb Federau, Ethan Martysz and Riley Lindberg. Martysz recorded an assist.
Noble turned aside seven shots on net.
Lindberg (offense), Brenden Lindgren (defense) and Martysz (outstanding player were game award winners.
In game 3, the Red Bulls lost, 3-1 to the ACS Meteors from Appleton (Wis.).
Scoring for the Red Bulls was Lindberg, assisted by Michelson.
Noble stopped 17 shots on net.
Holm (offense), Lindgren (defense) and Noble (outstanding player) were feted by the Red Bulls.
Lindgren earned team most valuable player honors for the tournament.
The MVP for the Red Bulls for the tournament was Lindgren.

The Blue Sharks outlasted the Green Gators, 10-8, as Dakota Fredy and Nocholas Asmus scored goals.

The Golden Soccer Balls nipped the Purple Cobras, 9-8, behind tallies by Leo Ahlstrom, Tucker Close, Bruno Delmont and Dillion Maki.

Cole Ranta and Alex Becker notched markers for the Grey Wolves.
In addition, Pink Thunder dumped Team Shamrock, 7-2, with Dawson Erva, Breydon Gagnon and Bryce Markham scoring for the winners.

The Hawks topped the Orange Flame Crushers, 10-4. Scoring for the Hawks were Levi DeRocher, Trevor Lewis, Conner McLaughlin and Mackenzie Vezina. Scoring for the Orange Flame Crushers were Logan Alexander.
Team 8 beat the Green Machines 12-1. Scoring for Team 8 were Brett Wittler (2), Cameron Maki (2), Seth Compton, Tanner Cain (2), Dayton DePetro (2) and Christopher Meiss (2). Team 5's goal was scored by Paige Britton.
Team No. 5 beat team No. 3, 5-3. For the winners, Lillian Masters, Shea Johnson, Chloe Henning and Emily Helgren (2) scored goals.
For Team 6, Kerrigan Braun notched all three markers.
Team 1 and Team 3 played to a 2-2 tie. Kirstyn Miles tallied both of Team 1's markers, while Vauda Grizzel found the net twice for Team 3.
For the week of June 25, Team 6 picked up goals from Izabelle Stevens (2), Kayla Trudgeon (2) and Chloe Hale. Team 1 got a goal from Taylor Myers.
The Killer Bananas edged the Grey Wolves, 6-4, behind two goals apiece by Carson Dyer and Colin Gaffney.
Michael Walker and Joey Elmhirst added single tallies.
Trent Sweeney netted three goals for the Grey Wolves. Teammate Travis Elledge also scored.
