MARQUETTE - Strong south winds on Lake Superior June 27 allowed Ensign sailboats to get in two races.
In the first race, only one of 15 boats finished due to equipment failure.
"Corsair" was demasted on the second upwind leg, according to spokeswoman Lori Frank. All crew members were uninjured and table to motor to the dock.
During the spinnaker take-down, "Zonker" had a man overboard. He was pulled back onto the boat uninjured within minutes, Frank said.
Top finishers in race one were: "Alderbaron", skippered by Michael Sauer; "Lickety Split", "Irish Ayes", "Eh?" and Black Boat
In Race 2, Neil Lynch aboard "Irish Ayes" won, followed by "Lickety Split", "Man O War", "Amazein' Blue" and "Eh?"
