MARQUETTE - Led by PMMF regular trombonist, Mark Fry, Third Coast Brass brings their passion and virtuoso playing to the U.P. at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at First Presbyterian Church in Marquette.
The concert will feature the overture from Mozart's The Magic Flute, Sibelius' "Andante Festivo," Broughton's "Three American Portraits," Sondheim's "Send in the Clowns" from A Little Night Music, as well as other pieces.
All five members hold positions in prestigious ensembles such as Omaha Symphony Orchestra, "The President's Own" United States Marine Band, Elgin Symphony Orchestra, and Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra. Individually they have also performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Houston Symphony Orchestra and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. Third Coast Brass is dedicated to performing new masterpieces, as well as standard and rarely-heard classics of the brass quintet repertoire.
