Rotary Club donates to U.P. Honor Flight in memory of former member

The Marquette Rotary Club recently presented a check for $500 to the Upper Peninsula Honor Flight in memory of Lt. Col. Howard Schweppe Jr.Pictured are, from left, Honor Flight veteran Bob Moore, club President Jack Frost, Honor Flight veteran Johnny Vasseau and Schweppe's widow Julie and son Eric. Schweppe was a past president of the club whose last military assignment was commander of the ROTC department at Northern Michigan University. His late father, Lt. Col. Howard Schweppe Sr. was a World War II veteran. This contribution brought total donations by the club and its members to more than $1,000.
