ST. IGNACE - Kenya Oas of Munising and Courtney Waara of Negaunee led their teams in scoring at the 27th annual Upper Peninsula All-Star Classic basketball games played in St. Ignace on Saturday afternoon.
The games are held annually for the best high school seniors with the site of the contests moved around the U.P.
Oas scored 18 points to help the North win 104-91 over the South in the boys game. North teammate Steve Angeli of Sault Ste. Marie also scored 18 points and was named the game's Most Valuable Player.

Zach French of Westwood added two points to the winning cause while a trio of his teammates each had 13 - Michael Kuenzer of Brimley, Jordan LaPlant of Ewen-Trout Creek and Tyler Wilson of Rudyard.
For the South, Kyle Tiglas of Manistique had the most points of any player in either game with 19, while teammate Lucas Moreau of Carney-Nadeau added 16.
In the girls game, Waara scored 13 points for the North but it wasn't enough to prevent the South from taking an 80-72 victory. Teammate Allyssa Lindberg of Marquette scored eight points and Megan Manninen of Westwood added six.
Playing for the South, Oakland University-bound Olivia Nash of Escanaba was the game's MVP with 15 points and 21 rebounds, while teammate Lauren Goldthorpe of St. Ignace had 16 points.
In special contests held in conjunction with the games, Megan Kangas of Norway won the free throw competition, LaPlant took the dunk contest and Taylor Dillinger of Houghton and Bryce Bilski of North Central each won the 3-point shootouts.
