MARQUETTE, MI. - Ennis Alfred Proulx, age 96, of 1103 Center Street, Marquette, passed away Wednesday evening, June 20, 2012, at Norlite Nursing Center where he had been a resident.
Ennis was born June 2, 1916 in AuGres, MI, a son of Edward and Delia (Dorian) Proulx. He served in the US Army during World War II in the South Pacific, and was also stationed in Germany and Korea before retiring as Lt. Colonel. Following service to his country, Ennis worked as the assistant chief of supply at the K.I Sawyer Air Force Base. In his retirement, he enjoyed fishing, gardening and playing cards.
Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Jacqueline; his daughter, Faith (Bradford) Veley of Marquette; four sons, Keith (Rose) Proulx of Waters, MI, Dale (Patricia) Proulx of Rochester Hills, MI, Rodney (Tammy) Proulx of Rose City, MI, Craig Proulx of Marquette and Chris Proulx of Ann Arbor, MI; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and one sister.
