K.I. SAWYER - The K.I. Sawyer Heritage Air Museum will host a U.P. Book Tour event at 8 p.m. Saturday at 402 Third St., K.I. Sawyer. Featured writers include Sue Harrison, Laura Kasischke, Catie Rosemurgy, and Eric Torgersen, with author Ron Riekki serving as the event moderator. The published works of these authors include novels, poetry, and screenplays. A book sale and signing opportunity will follow the presentation/panel discussion.
The host for this event is U.P. Book Tour project director Ron Riekki, an author, poet and playwright. Northern Michigan University Press will soon release an anthology of plays titled "Your Map is Wrong-A Collection of Plays" set in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The 2012 U.P. Book Tour is the subject of an upcoming documentary film under Riekki's direction.
The tour will be held in 20 sites across the Upper Peninsula through July 7. More than 40 U.P. or Michigan-based authors will participate in literary and theater events held to celebrate literature.
