To the Journal editor:
I'm a huge fan of the First Amendment. But the statements by Citgo owner Krist Atanasoff are not free speech. Thieves? Convicted felons? Tax evaders? Are you kidding me?
The Mining Journal has every right to express its opinion on the proposed Keweenaw Bay Indian Community gas station, whether he agrees with it or not. If he has facts that conflict with with the editorial, bring them on. But (Atanasoff) was way out of line when he spewed that insulting and hateful garbage about Native Americans.
He can stop selling The Mining Journal in his stores if that suits his tantrum over competition. But I will be joining Donna Hilborn and I will not spend another penny at Citgo.
