MARQUETTE - The GLIAC honored 26 Northern Michigan University spring sports athletes for their work in the classroom with eight from women's outdoor track and field being named to the league's academic excellence team.

The Wildcat women's track team had 17 members while one men's golfer was named to the GLIAC's all-academic team.

GLIAC student-athletes must be an active member on the roster at the end of the season, not a freshman or a first year transfer student to be eligible. All-academic teams are comprised of those who carry a cumulative grade point average between 3.0-3.49.
