MARQUETTE - Planned Parenthood of West and Northern Michigan will host a Free HIV Testing Week (by appointment) June 25-29, at all eight of its health centers, in recognition of National HIV Testing Day on June 27.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than one million Americans are living with HIV, and 20 percent of them don't know they have it. Testing and treatment can save lives and reduce the spread of HIV.
PPWNM features the rapid HIV test by Alere. The test involves a simple finger poke, with confidential results in just 20 minutes.
