MARQUETTE - Northern Michigan University senior and United States Olympic Education Center Greco-Roman wrestler Paul Tellgren captured silver at the Ljubomir Ivanovic Gedza International wrestling meet on Saturday in Bellgrade, Serbia.
The Anoka, Minn. native finished 4-1 with his lone loss coming against Spenser Mango - the two-time Olympian and NMU and USOEC alumnus - by a score of 6-0, 2-0.
To reach the finals, Tellgren topped a pair of wrestlers from Iraq and Croatia, as well as Serbia's Nikola Markovic, 1-0, 1-1.

Three other NMU and USOEC alumni competed with Mango - who also earned bronze at 60kg by defeating Luis Baiz of Venezuela, 1-0, 3-0 - in preparation for wrestling in the Olympic Games this summer in London.
Justin Lester took down Valdemar Stajer of Serbia, 3-0, 1-0 at 74kg for bronze; Chas Betts took silver with a win over Goran Bulatovic of Serbia, 1-0, 6-0 at 84kg; while Ben Provisor finished fifth at 84 kg.
Team USA finished second to Serbia in the nine-team tournament, 108-65. Croatia was third with 41 points.
