MARQUETTE - Child and Family Services of the Upper Peninsula will host its Third Annual Family Fun Carnival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Mattson Lower Harbor Park in Marquette. The event will include bounce houses, inflatable slides and a dunk tank to tasty concessions, face painting and games and prizes. Admission is $5 for families of three or less, $10 for larger families. Entry includes face painting and bounce house/slide, with other games at 50 cents.
Music will be provided by Radio Eagle, and there will be a silent auction for adults. Kids will be able to guess how many soccer balls are jammed into the Chevy Sonic, which is being raffled off in August.
The event again will include the Pie in the Face Fundraiser. The Pie Ballot includes CFSUP's Executive Director Norma Semashko; John Kivela, mayor of Marquette; George Hyde, attorney and juvenile court referee; Deborah Veiht, superintendent at Marquette Area Public Schools; Mark Canale, owner of Canale-Tonella Funeral Home; Judy Watson Olson, CEO at Great Lakes Center for Youth Development; and Vicki Crystal, TV6 news anchor.
Votes cost $2 each and may be cast on CFSUP's website, www.cfsup.org, or in person at CFSUP's administrative offices in Chippewa Square. Last-minute votes will be taken until 3 p.m. June 23 at the carnival.
All proceeds from this event and the Pie-in-the-Face Fundraiser will go to support CFSUP in its mission to strengthen and empower U.P. children and families for a brighter future.
