Tombstone detectives at cemetery

MARQUETTE - The Marquette Regional History Center will host the program "Tombstone Detectives" from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at Park Cemetery in Marquette. This family friendly program will include hands-on activities for children will include doing a tombstone rubbing, finding symbols in a scavenger hunt and uncovering the mystery of the oldest tombstone.

Historic figures from the past - a female author, a photographer, a wrestler and a woman lighthouse keeper - will come alive with role playing by museum staff and volunteers Betsy Rutz, Jack Deo, Bob Mercure and Greta VanOsdol. This program for all ages will conclude with a ghost story.

Participants should meet at the main gate on Seventh Street to begin the walk and tour. A $5 donation is requested to assist with program costs.
