NEGAUNEE - The Negaunee Public Schools Board of Education will hold its annual budget hearing and take action to approve its budget for the upcoming 2012-2013 school year tonight.
The board will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Negaunee High School library.
Following the budget hearing, the board is expected to act on next year's budget, as well as to approve final amendments to the current year's budget.
In other action, the board is expected to act on proposed changes to the student handbook for the coming year as well as act on transfers of four teachers, either between district buildings or with new class assignments, to fill positions after the announcement of several retirements.
Finally, the board is expected to enter into closed session for an update on negotiations with the teachers in the Negaunee Education Association.
