ISHPEMING - The Ishpeming Blue Storm American Legion baseball team swept Iron Mountain on Sunday, 4-3 and 11-9, in a Father's Day doubleheader at the Ishpeming Playgrounds.
Ishpeming posted a run in the bottom of the ninth inning of Game 1 for the 4-3 win. Jake Richards went all seven innings on the mound for the Storm to get the win, striking out 12 Iron Mountain batters along the way. Tyrus Millimaki and Gunnar Meyer each drove in a run for Ishpeming.
In the Game 2 victory, Ishpeming scored eight runs in the bottom of the third inning and followed with two in the fifth and one in the sixth to hold off Iron Mountain.
Ricky Kurian had a pair of hits for Ishpeming and drove in a pair of runs as well. Jarrett Davidson also finished with two RBIs. Blake Strother threw three innings to get the win.
Pending weather, Ishpeming is set to travel to Mid County today for a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.
