MARQUETTE - Negaunee Middle School will host Steve Moreland's Championship Basketball Youth Training Camp from Monday through Thursday, June 25-28.
The camp, which runs from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day, is open to boys and girls who will enter grades 2 through 11 this fall. Cost is $144 and includes a T-shirt; red, white and blue basketball; and awards and trophies.
Grouped by age, activities include team meetings with Moreland; developing ball handling, passing, shooting, defense and rebounding skills; two sets of 5-on-5 full-court refereed games; and trophies for special skills challenges.
Moreland is a respected shooting coach who has conducted more than 1,200 youth camps and shooting clinics. He has 16 years of experience with the Detroit Pistons, working with stars that include Chauncey Billups, Grant Hill and Penny Hardaway.
