NEGAUNEE - A long-time Negaunee Township business is expanding into a new location along U.S. 41.

Miller-Bradford & Risberg, the Case construction dealer in the area, has broken ground on a new facility, approximately one mile east of its current facility on U.S. 41.

"We are pleased to begin construction on our new state-of-the-art facility," said Mike Soley, president and chief executive officer of Miller-Bradford & Risberg in a prepared statement. "It's a new chapter in our 30-year history in Neguanee."

The new building is set on two acres off of U.S. 41 and will house a variety of new, used and rental equipment, as well as heavy machinery services such as a shop and on-site service. The new building will also serve as a parts supplier for any brand of equipment.

Scheduled to be completed in the fall, the new building is expected to improve the branch's ability to serve customers.

"We'll be able to serve all of our customers in the area more efficiently with the new building," said Matt Anderson, branch manager for the Negaunee location. "We look forward to welcoming everyone to an open house once we are set up and all moved in."

General contractor on the project is Associated Constructors of Marquette.

When finished, the building will measure 11,500 square feet with four service bays with new diagnostic and repair equipment throughout.

Miller-Bradford & Risberg was established in 1944, and has seven locations throughout Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan. The company sells equipment by a range of manufacturers including Case, Terex, Midland Machinery and Honda. Equipment lines include construction, utility, road maintenance, demolition and material handling, as well as trailers, water tanks and hydraulic drills.
