MARQUETTE - McKinley Larson pitched a no-hitter to lead the Marquette Reds to a 7-0 victory over the Gladstone Junior Indians in an American Legion baseball game played at Haley Memorial Field on Thursday.

Larson struck out 18 of the 23 batters he faced and didn't walk any. Gladstone's only baserunners came from three errors, one in the first inning and two more in the fourth.

Larson got plenty of batting support from the lower part of the Reds' batting order, as No. 6 batter Jerad Tredeau, No. 7 Drew VanDrese and No. 8 Robert Field each went 2 for 3 and combined to score four times and knock in four runs.

Larson, batting cleanup, also had a hit, an RBI and run scored, as did leadoff hitter Colton Wiggins.

The Reds scored twice in the third on a walk, back-to-back singles by Wiggins and Lucas Welshans and a bounce out RBI.

They added three more in the fourth as Field cracked a two-run single, and their final two in the fifth as VanDrese had another two-run single.
