Israel continues to push behind the scenes for the release of Jonathan Pollard.
And that's too bad because the chances of the United States actually letting him go him are very small.
Many Americans will recall Pollard. He was convicted of esponiage in the late 1980s for selling classified American military secrets to Israel.
Pollard, an American citizen, has been imprisoned for 25-plus in a federal prison.
The case, for reasons that are unclear, has caught the attention of Israeli Prime Minister Benjaman Netanyahu, who on at at least one occasion, has asked President Barack Obama to approve clemency and release Pollard from prison.
Netanyahu concedes the obvious, that it was wrong for Israel to work with Pollard.
Of course it was. Pollard is a convicted criminal criminally and should serve out his life sentence in prison.
