MARQUETTE - MC Sports and Subway both made three runs stand up for wins during games played last week in the Minors division of the Marquette Little League.
MC edged Classic Auto Collision 3-2 on Wednesday as Trent Smith pitched three hitless innings, getting relief help from Carson Hayes and Desmond Mullen. Smith, Hayes, Erik Johnson, Conner Steer and Mason Brady had hits off CAC pitchers Sam Bartlett and Drew Lindberg, while Bartlett and teammate Jordan Flint both had singles.
On Thursday, Subway blanked Cooper Office Equipment, 3-0, with Anthony Gerry pitching four shutout innings and Evan Gerry two more for the winners.
Evan Gerry doubled and Anthony Gerry and Eddie Sloan singled for Subway as Jake Allard-Saucey pitched three innings for COE.
