On May 24, AuTrain-Onota Public School students in fifth-eighth grade participated in the 2012 Michigan National Archery in the School Program Virtual Tournament. Students at the school participate in NASP archery as a part of their physical education program. Teachers Raymond Pelissier and Bryan Tyner are certified basic archery instructors, trained through this program.

Top archers from AuTrain-Onota Public School include Kody Beauchaine and Gabby Demogola in the middle school division, and Brandon Lyle and Macy Pawielski in the elementary division. Kody Beauchained finished 30th in the state competition which included more than 200 male participants in his division.

The students and staff of AuTrain-Onota Public school extend special thanks to U.P. Whitetails for their continued support of the school's archery program. The Archery in the School Program is designed to introduce archery to students in fourth thru 12th grade physical education classes. For additional information on the program or AuTrain-Onota Public School, call the school office at 343.6632.
