NEGAUNEE - Miners Park in Negaunee filled up late Wednesday afternoon as area residents came out for the first day of the Jackson Mine Farmers and Crafters Market.
Located at a new venue this year, Miners Park hosted a variety of vendors from bakers to growers to crafters, all selling their goods to the market visitors.
"We like the new location," local grower Dan Goodreau said. "It'll probably bring a little more roadside business. The public seems to have turned out well."

Miners Park is a switch from the previous location of the market at Jackson Park in downtown Negaunee. Although the former location held a great deal of historical significance as part of the Old Town area of the city, market officials said they hope the new location will be easier for those traveling on U.S. 41 to find and will bring an increase in traffic.
The market runs from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays, except July 4.
