Bell takes down Cliffs in Marquette Majors baseball

MARQUETTE - Bell Roofing defeated Cliffs Natural Resources, 15-7, on Monday in the Marquette Little League Major Division.

Bell's Ben Mitchell went 4 for 4 and scored three runs as teammates Jake L'Huillier, Hunter Doucette and Thomas Griffith combined on the mound.

Ryan Houle, Logan Holm, Jed Weber, Collin Fure and Thomas Dunleavy pitched for Cliffs.

In the Marquette Little League Minor Division, MC Sports topped Classic Auto Collision 8-1 on May 14. Trent Smith and Erik Johnson each pitched two innings for MC Sports. Luke Kostreva and Carsen Hayes each singled for MC Sports. Drew Lindberg and two hits and scored a run for Classic Auto Collision II and Kyle Ott added a hit.

On May 15, Cooper Office Equipment edged Subway, 8-7. Jon Jason hit an inside-the-park home run and Hayden Kauppila tallied a three-RBI, game-winning hit for Cooper. Anthony Gerry, Natalie Bordson and Evan Gerry all had hits for Subway in the loss.

On May 16, Cooper Office Equipment topped MC Sports 12-7. Jon Jason pitched two scoreless innings and Kyle Pascoe had two hits and three RBIs for Cooper. Desmond Mullen hit a single and triple and Marius Grazulius hit a double in the loss for MC Sports. Also getting hits for MC Sports were Carsen Hayes, Conner Steer, Trent Smith and Austin Ridl.

On May 17, Cooper Office Equipment topped Beauchamp Plumbing and Heating 9-5. Aaron Grzelak hit a two-run in-the-park home run for Cooper Office. Tyler Delmont struck out all six batters he faced and Ryan Ayotte had an RBI for Beauchamp Plumbing and Heating.

Also on May 17, Classic Auto Collision II beat Subway 8-2. Natalie Bordson, Eddie Sloan, Thomas Lohfink and Jacob Gorton all had hits for Subway. Ryan Marshall, Drew Lindberg, Max McLaughlin and Andrew Fedrizzi picked up hits for Classic Auto Collion II. Sam Bartlett pitched two innings allowing, two runs. Drew Lindberg pitched two scoreless innings.
