Alger candidates unopposed

MUNISING - After Tuesday's partisan candidate filing deadline, incumbents running for new terms in Alger County government are so far unopposed.

Candidates without party affiliation have until July 19 to file paperwork with the county clerk's office to run for office.

Partisan candidates who are seeking re-election includes Prosecuting Attorney Karen Bahrman and Sheriff Robert Hughes, both Republicans; Clerk Mary Ann Froberg and Treasurer Pam Johnson, both Democrats; road commissioner Doug Miron, a Democrat; and county board members Catherine Pullen, Joseph VanLandschoot, Esley Mattson, Jerry Doucette and Mickey Rondeau, all Democrats.
