ISHPEMING - With Superintendent Michael Haynes planning to leave the district July 1, the NICE school board has scheduled a special meeting Thursday to discuss the search for a new superintendent and the appointment of an interim.
The board meets at 6 p.m. at the Westwood High School media center.
Included in the discussion will be a review of proposals from firms that assist school districts in searching for administrators.
Haynes is planning to leave the district for a position with an intermediate school district in Wisconsin.
The board is also expected to consider appointing an interim superintendent to ease the transition between Haynes leaving and a new superintendent coming on board. The board posted the interim position internally to see if any staff members are interested in the position.
