MARQUETTE - End-of-season awards have been presented for the Marquette Senior High School junior varsity hockey team for the 2011-12 season.

Award winners were: Bryan Price, Team Leader; Hunter Larson, Most Improved; Hayden Gray, Unsung Hero; and Cote Marshal, Best Defenseman.

"This was a great inaugural season for this program," head coach Kevin Thomsen said. "We had a lot of success and I contribute that to the work ethic these young men showed me all winter.

"I think this program is off to a very strong start and I would like to see it continue," added Thomsen, whose squad went 18-3-2 on the season.

The team won a tournament in Madison, Wis.
