Red Bulls U-14 take third place at Superior Dome Soccer Tournament

MARQUETTE - The Marquette Red Bulls U-14 youth soccer team defeated the Howard, Wis., White Hurricanes 5-1 to finish in third place at the 17th annual Superior Dome Soccer Tournament on Sunday.

Trevor Williams and Preston Marchant scored goals in the game's first five minutes, while Alex Wyble, Trevor Williams and Alex Bianchi sealed the deal with second-half tallies. Assists were credited to Bianchi, Wyble, Sydney Higgins, Kees Gray, Travis Lindberg and Nathan King as netminder Peter Amundsen made one save on two shots for the victory.

The Red Bulls of head coach Ricky Graves and assistant Garrett Marchant tied both its games in pool play.

In a 2-2 deadlock against the Petoskey Lakers, Lehomn Pickard scored both goals with assists going to King, Gray and Preston Marchant. Wyble and Amundsen split net duties, with Wyble getting three saves on five shots and Amundsen not facing a shot on goal.

The only pool game was a 1-1 tie with the Howard Purple Hurricanes as Gray scored early on with an assist going to Marchant as Wyble stopped five shots, one on a penalty kick, in six shots.
