Keweenaw Bay buoys installed

The Mining Journal

L'ANSE - Larger boats can be moored in Keweenaw Bay just off the L'Anse shoreline using two new buoys purchased by the L'Anse Downtown Development Authority.

The DDA's purchase was announced at the L'Anse Village Council meeting this week, and Village Manager Bob LaFave said the buoys are ready for use.

"They're out in the bay now. One is off the L'Anse Waterfront Park and another is across from the VFW and the American Legion," LaFave said. "Larger boats can come into the area, and (the buoys) are free to use."
