Greenleaf runs table twice in NCMPL, Van Luven scores table run in Ishpeming

GWINN - Bob Greenleaf turned in two table runs and Tim Smith and Gubba Liquia were among those with one each during Week 29 NCMPL men's league pool play in the Gwinn area.

Cascade Inn 2 scored the biggest win of the week, beating Happy Hour, 11-4.

In other action, 10-5 wins were posted by Cascade Inn over Sturgis Saloon, Cascade Inn 3 over American Legion 2, Full Throttle Bar'n'Grill over Full Throttle 2, American Legion over Fat Boyz and VFW over Happy Hour 2.

Winning 9-6 were Up North Lodge over The Hide-Away and The Hide-Away 2 over Cross Roads Bar.

In playoff results from April 4, Hickey's I edged Rumorz III, 13-11; Jack's I knocked off Tilden Club, 14-10; and Jack's III stopped Wayside, 14-10.

In addition, Hickey's II beat Rumorz II after the latter had to forfeit five games due to an ineligible player whose name wasn't on the roster.

In playoff competition March 28, Hickey's I beat Jack's II, 14-10; Rumorz III clubbed Riverside, 15-9; Jack's I dumped Wonder Bar, 16-8; and Tilden Club drubbed Rainbow, 19-5.

In addition, Jack's III bounced Paradise, 15-9; and Rumorz II toppled Rumorz I in "extra innings."

Fred Van Luven of Tilden Club posted a break and table run, while Kim Hibbard of Riverside Club turned in an 8-ball break.

Dan Mongiat of Hickey's I won the Gus Vahamaa Memorial Singles Tournament.

Leo Field of Rumorz III placed second, Bill Olson of Jack's III claimed third and Justin Jonas of Jack's II captured fourth.
