NMU football hosting golf event

MARQUETTE - The Northern Michigan University football team will host a golf scramble on Friday, June 1 at the NMU Golf Course to benefit the football program.

Registration for the day is $100 per golfer and includes 18 holes of golf, a shared cart, lunch, refreshments on the course, buffet dinner at Upfront and Co. after golfing and awards. Teams will consist of four golfers.

Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at noon. The NMU coaching staff will be present, along with players, cheerleaders and Wildcat Willy. The event will also feature challenge holes - longest drive, first on, longest putt, etc. - and hole-in-one contests.

A reception afterwards will provide the opportunity to socialize with fellow golfers and the coaching staff. For information or to reserve a spot for your team, email John Frick, event co-chair, at
