Three-car Ishpeming accident results in injury

ISHPEMING - Emergency crews responded to a three-car accident at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Second Street in Ishpeming this afternoon which left at least one person injured.

The accident happened shortly before 4:30 p.m.

At least one person sustained injuries - an occupant who had to be cut out of the silver sedan that sustained the most damage.

Responders cut the roof from the car and then transfered the occupant to a back board and then a gurney.

EMS crews from Bell Hospital also appeared to be treating and speaking with the occupants of the other two vehicles, a black sedan and a light blue SUV.

Traffic in the right-hand westbound lane of U.S. 41 was rerouted as crews worked to clean up the accident scene.

Responding to the scene were the Ishpeming City Police Department, the Ishpeming Volunteer Fire Department, Marquette County Rescue Unit 131 and Bell Hospital EMS.
