MANSFIELD, Texas - Northern Michigan University junior Gaby Alzaga of the Wildcat swimming and diving team earned All-American status after an eighth place finish in the 200-yard backstroke at the 2012 Division II NCAA Swimming and Diving Championship in Mansfield, Texas.
Alzaga finished the championship heat of the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:02.21 on Saturday.
NMU freshman Emily Brennan finished 30th in the 200 breaststroke on Saturday as well.

"I'm very proud of both swimmers," NMU coach Heidi Voigt said. "We have a lot to look forward to in the coming years with so much youth and talent."
NMU finished with 12 points over the weekend for 31st place.
