ESCANABA?- Joe Knauf, owner of DSTECH, announced the promotion of Eric Wakkuri to Vice President.
Wakkuri, a native of Escanaba, is a graduate of Northern Michigan University with a degree in business computer information systems, graduating summa cum laude. Wakkuri joined DSTECH in 2001 and most recently has led DSTECH'S consulting services division. In that role he has taken the lead in developing DSTECH's offerings in surveillance, customer premise VoIP, hosted VoIP and managed services.
Wakkuri will be replacing retiring vice president Peter Denman. Denman, who joined DSTECH in 1984, was the longest serving DSTECH employee and played a key role in the growth of the company.
During his tenure as vice president, Denman was instrumental in providing data processing services and customized program packages to schools, municipalities, industry and business. These packages included payroll, financial accounting, inventory control, as well as several industry specific offerings. Most recently his work for DSTECH included VoIP Telephony implementation, support for the IBM iSeries platform and remote processing services.
Denman, along with his wife, Nancy, plan to travel and spend more time with their family and grandchildren.
DSTECH, founded in 1976 as Delcomp, is based in Escanaba. The company serves customers in the Upper Peninsula and Northeast Wisconsin with computer services, hardware, software and network services.
