FARMINGTON HILLS - Northern Michigan University freshman defenseman Jake Baker was named an honorable mention on the 2011-12 CCHA all-rookie team released Monday.
The 6-foot-5, 211-pound freshman out of Port Moody, British Columbia, had one goal and seven assists in 36 games with a plus/minus rating of plus-2. He finished with 10 penalties for 42 minutes.
The CCHA all-rookie team included forward Austin Czarnik of Miami, forward Alex Guptill of Michigan, forward Max McCormick of Ohio State, defenseman Robbie Russo of Notre Dame and Western Michigan's Garrett Haar, a defenseman, and goaltender Frank Slubowski.
Other honorable mentions included Matt Berry of Michigan State; Phil Di Giuseppe of Michigan; Ryan Dzingel and Al McLean of Ohio State; Jimmy Mullin of Miami; Jason Binkley, C.J. Motte and Simon Denis of Ferris State; and Kevin Czuczman of Lake Superior State.
