MUNISING - Munising capped off an 18-2 regular season by running past Newberry 56-29 in a high school boys basketball game played Saturday.

The game was pushed back two days after the Class D girls district tournament had to move its opening round to Thursday because of wintry weather.

Playing sparingly, MHS senior point guard Kenya Oas shared scoring honors with teammate and junior forward Gage Webster with 15 points apiece, while the Mustangs' Zach Boucher pulled down a team-high eight rebounds.

JJ Sutton led Newberry (0-20) with nine points and eight rebounds.

Munising jumped out to leads of 10-3 and 27-10 at the end of the first two periods.

The Mustangs also won the JV game, 56-35.
