MARQUETTE - The Gwinn man who escaped from the Marquette County 96th District Court last week turned himself in to police.
According to the Marquette County Sheriff's Office, Troy Alan Luoma, 27, was arrested Tuesday evening in Marquette and is currently lodged in the Marquette County Jail, awaiting arraignment on charges of attempted interference with electronic communications, resisting and obstructing a police officer and escape from lawful custody.
On Jan. 26, Luoma was in an arraignment on a domestic violence charge before District Court Judge Roger Kangas. Kangas ordered him remanded to jail and before he could be handcuffed, officials said Luoma fled from deputies, last being seen at the corner of Third Street and Baraga Avenue.
Sheriff's office officials said tips from the public assisted in the arrest.
