MARQUETTE - A 23-year-old West Branch Township man was arrested Wednesday on a five-count felony warrant related to an alleged child rape reported Tuesday.
The man was lodged in the Marquette County Jail. His name was being withheld pending his arraignment in district court.
Michigan State Police troopers from the Negaunee regional post said a woman had reported Tuesday she found the man - who was her live-in boyfriend - sexually molesting her 11-year-old daughter at their home.
The man fled the residence before police arrived. A warrant for his arrest was requested and later authorized by the Marquette County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
Troopers said the man was found and arrested Wednesday.
No additional details were being provided prior to the suspect's arraignment.
