Art event helps children’s museum

MARQUETTE - The Upper Peninsula Children's Museum in Marquette will host its annual Unexpected Artists Celebrity Art Auction Thursday, Dec. 1. Viewing will begin at 5:30 p.m., with the auction at 7 p.m. Admission is free.

This adults-only event featues original works of art by 40 of some of the community's most unexpected artists. Along with the auction, headed up by auctioneer Al Hunter, there will be fine wines and beer, an array of appetizers and a chocolate fountain.

This year's artists include: John Spigarelli, Shelby Bischoff, Elizabeth Peterson, Todd Horton, Sara Cambensy, Dr. Mark Cowan, Stephanie Jones, Lars Larson, Andy Langlois, Nate Noble, Ben Johnson, Doug Garrison, Laura Reilly, Ryan Riipi, Derrick Fries, Mary Dowling, Kim Ketola, Ryan Anthony, Eric Moe, Dan Blondeau, Jeremy Hansen, Dr. Patrick Bulinski, Lanni Lantto, Lindsay Hemmila, Brandon Turino, Nicole Dewald, Greg Andrews, Simone Vajda, Elaine Hewitt, Mike Koskiniemi, Ruby Wattson, Kerry Noble, Bill Vajda and Jack Lenten.
