MARQUETTE - A rematch between Western Marquette County and Mid-Peninsula Conference schools highlights the MHSAA football playoff pairings announced on Sunday evening with the Ishpeming Hematites hosting the Westwood Patriots in Division 7. The Hematites (7-1) topped the Patriots (6-2) earlier this year in Ishpeming, 18-0.
In Division 2, Marquette Senior High School (7-2) will travel south of Flint to play at Fenton (7-2)>
In Division 8, Munising (6-3) will play its first playoff game in over 20 years at St. Ignace (9-0) and Superior Central (7-2) will start the 8-man football playoffs at home against Mid Peninsula (2-7).
In other notable Upper Peninsula playoff matchups, Escanaba (6-3) will host Ludington (6-3) in Division 4; Menominee (7-2) will host Kingsley in Division 5 (6-3); Iron Mountain (8-0) will host Tawas Area (7-2) and McBain (8-1) will host Calumet (7-2) in Division 6; West Iron County (8-1) hosts Ironwood (5-4) in Division 7; North Dickinson (7-1) hosts Ontonagon (5-4) and Forest Park hosts Stephenson (7-2) and Hillman (8-1) hosts Rudyard (6-3) in Division 8.
