MARQUETTE - Creating Confident Caregivers for Veterans, a new program designed for family caregivers caring for a veteran with memory loss, will be offered from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 27 through Oct, 18 at the Veterans Outreach Clinic, 1414 W. Fair Ave., Marquette.
Highlighting the Savvy Caregiver training program, Creating Confident Caregivers for Veterans is a four-session workshop led by trained dementia care specialists.
This university-tested program provides participants with information, skills and attitudes to manage stress and increase their effectiveness as a caregiver.
There is no charge for the sessions or materials, and participants who successfully complete the workshop may qualify for a cash incentive. Respite care while attending the sessions is available through participating area agencies.
