By JOHN PEPIN Journal Staff Writer

WAKEFIELD - Arraignments were expected this week for two people arrested early Saturday in Gogebic County on drug charges.

Michigan State Police at the Wakefield post arrested a 28-year-old male from Green Bay, Wis., and a 22-year-old female from Ontonagon on a tip the subjects would be entering Gogebic County. Troopers said Monday the names of those involved were being withheld, pending their arraignments expected later this week in district court.

Police said the male was wanted on a warrant out of Ontonagon County, which he was arrested on. During the arrest, police said they determined the man was in possession of narcotics, that he was under the influence of narcotics and that he was traveling with a false identification.

The female subject was arrested for possession of narcotics and being under the influence of narcotics. Troopers said the drugs involved were an array of prescription medications.

Both subjects were initially lodged in the Gogebic County Jail. The man's bond was set at $20,000 cash and the female was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond.
