Ringing and giving

November 28, 2010
The Mining Journal

A major fundraising effort for the area Salvation Army corps is the Red Kettle Campaign. Bell ringers can be found at various locations around the county collecting monetary donations. Here, bell ringer Jimmy Nevala, 19, stands at Jim's Jubilee in Ishpeming. If dropping some money in the red kettles isn't enough for you this year, consider donating a toy or two to the annual Cheer Club. The 32nd annual Cheer Club helps provide for needy area families by collecting donations from food to clothing to gifts to help make the holidays easier. Cheer Club gifts can be dropped off until Dec. 20. at either the Marquette or Ishpeming Mining Journal offices, the Marquette and Ishpeming Salvation Army corps, or at other locations to be announced.
