Munising man held on 2 felony charges

MUNISING - A 31-year-old Munising man has been lodged in the Alger County Jail on two felony counts.

The man, whose name has not been released pending arraignment Tuesday, was arrested by the Munising Police Department Wednesday following an incident on Tuesday evening. The alleged victim was a 33-year-old Munising man.

The suspect was arrested on one count of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder and one count of felonious assault, assault with a dangerous weapon.

Police officials did not release further details on the incident pending the suspect's arraignment.

The suspect is being held on a $50,000 bond.

Assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder is a felony which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. The second charge, assault with a dangerous weapon, carries a maximum penalty of four years.
