Build yourself up don’t tear the other guy down

October 28, 2010
The Mining Journal

I am very disillusioned with politics and the politicians. It seems like nobody can run on their own merit but can only run on the bad things someone else has done or has supposedly done, we never know for sure.

I remember my father saying to me as I was growing up and later to our children that you don't build yourself up by tearing someone else down. Those running for office are doing just that. They are tearing each other down instead of building themselves up and letting the voters know what they have done. Those running for office should be able to publicize what they have done to help their districts.

It would be nice to see a clean campaign, something we have not seen in many years. We need help with education, jobs and the economy. We need someone to say, "I did this in the past and I will do this in the future," and not center on what the other guy did or didn't do. Build yourself up don't tear the other guy down.
