Political signs

October 27, 2010
The Mining Journal

When I travel to different places at this time of the year, I notice we're inundated with political signs to vote for this one and that one. And this goes on every two years, each promising more jobs than the next and a better living.

That being the case, shouldn't we all be far better off than we were 25 years ago? After all, they're going to do wonders for us. But here is the catch: Let's say you frequented a restaurant for five days in a row and the food was terrible, and so was the service. Your wife says, "Honey, let's go out to eat tonight." Would you go back? Of course not. Than why do we always vote the same people back who haven't done anything for us? Is it we're from the old school and vote the way Dad voted? Or we're appeasing a union?

I figure if the bad eatery isn't going to change then I have to go to a different restaurant, right? By the way, search for the website that shows how each politician stands on the issues.
